Mary Ellen Smith

Mary Ellen Moore Smith age 78 of Pine Bluff, died, Monday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was born June 20, 1931 in Worden, Arkansas, a daughter of the late George W. Simms and Eathel Carter Brown. Mrs. Smith was employed by Weyerhaeuser Bag Company before her retirement and was of the Baptist faith. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jackie Edwards.

Mrs. Smith is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen Edwards of Clinton, DeWayne and Angie Benson of Springfield, Missouri, James and Vickie Owen of Rison; daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Larry Bocksnick of Pine Bluff; sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and James Ross of Pine Bluff; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Buie Funeral Chapel in Rison with Brother Gene Triplett officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be thirty minutes prior to service. Pallbearers are Joseph Tucker, James Owen, DeWayne Benson, Stephen Edwards, James Ross, and Larry Bocksnick.
