Mary Frances Sims

August 12, 1935 — December 4, 2015

Mary Frances Sims, age 80, of Kingsland went to be with the Lord, Friday, December 4, 2015. Mrs. Sims was born August 12, 1935 in Rison, a daughter of Jesse Wilmar Turner and Bertha Virginia Clark Turner. She was a 1953 graduate of Kingsland High School. Mrs. Sims retired from Kingsland School after many years of service as Lunchroom Supervisor. She was known in many counties as "The Fordyce Paper Lady and The Kingsland Lunchroom Lady". She loved cooking for her family and others, but most of all slipping some for herself. Her family and grandbabies were her world, each spring she could count on her loving husband picking her home grown daffodils from the yard. Mrs. Sims served the Lord very faithfully as a Christian and Minister's Wife, supporting her husband in every church they served. She always provided her tasty homemade pecan pies for every church fellowship. Mrs. Sims was a member of Bearden Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Fay and May Turner, Virginia Connell and brother James Roy Turner.

Survivors include her husband of sixty years, Brother Harold Dean Sims of Kingsland, whom she married December 21, 1954; son, Donald Sims and wife, Donna of Kingsland; daughter, Kathy Wylie and husband, James of Norphlet; brothers, John Turner of Fordyce, Buck Turner of Earlville, Illinois; four grandchildren, Donaven Sims and wife, Abby, Jay Wylie and wife, Jessica, Shasta Mills and husband, Clay, Derrick Sims and wife, Alaina and seven great grandchildren.
