Mary Ruth Rhodes

Mary Ruth Rhodes, born on September 22, 1947, departed this life on February 20, 2025. She was a cherished member of her family and community, known for her unwavering love, nurturing spirit, and the joy she brought to the lives of those around her. She was also a dedicated nurse for 25 plus years. 

Mary was a devoted wife to her loving husband, Wesley Gene Rhodes. Together, they created a warm and welcoming home filled with laughter and love. She was a dedicated mother to two sons, Torry Rhodes and his wife Jenell, and Warren Rhodes and his wife Lona, and one daughter Karen Crutchfield. Mary took immense pride in her family, often sharing stories of her adventures with them and the special moments they created together.

Mary's heart was especially full when she spent time with her grandchildren: Ava, Adalyn, Ridge, Breck, Jessa, Maranda, Alanna, and Eric. Spoiling them brought her immense joy, and she was always there to offer words of encouragement and embrace their achievements, big or small. In addition to her grandchildren, Mary was blessed with several great-grandchildren, who lit up her life with their playful energy.

A true animal lover, Mary had a special affinity for furry companions, treating them with the same care and affection she showed her family. Her garden was a testament to her nurturing nature, as she tended to her plants with the same love and dedication she devoted to her loved ones. In her quiet moments, she found solace in reading, allowing herself to escape into various worlds and stories.

She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Audrey Parker; father, Ray Dykes; and brother, Dawn Dykes.

Mary Ruth Rhodes leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will forever resonate in the hearts of her family and friends. Those who knew her will always carry her memory, celebrating the warmth and happiness she brought into their lives.

A visitation will be held on February 24, 2025, at Buie Funeral Home in Rison, Arkansas, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, where family and friends will gather to honor her remarkable life.
