Mary Phelps

Mary Alice McDaniel Phelps, 82,born in Watson AR on July 3 1940, of Rowell, went to be with the Lord, at home with her husband Harry Phelps, by her side. Mary Alice devoted her life to her family as a homemaker. She was the very best Nanny to her grandbabies. She could light up a room with her beautiful smile and sense of humor. Young at heart and the kindest soul. She was a hard worker and spent countless hours cooking, canning, and gardening. She was always up for hunting and fishing with Harry, as well as shopping with her girls. She loved life and could find something good in everyone. She loved her church family and was a member of Center Missionary Baptist Church in Rowell. She attended school at Lake Village and graduated from Dermott High School. She was preceded in death by her Parents Letha May and Joe McDaniel. In-Laws Royce and Velma Phelps. A son Donald Phelps, and great granddaughter Whitley Young. A brother Ray McDaniel, sisters Evelyn Fortenberry, Joyce DeAngelo, and Nettie Pearl McDaniel. A sister-in-law Beth McDaniel.  She is survived by her husband Harry Phelps, who she married on December 27, 1958. They were married for 63 years. A daughter Mary Catherine Eldridge (Michael), Daughter-in-law Stephanie Phelps. Grandsons Brad Young (Karla), Matt Eldridge (Kandi), Grand-daughters, Sarah Slaughter (James), Miranda Tucker (Joseph), Melissa Tumbleson (Mitchell), and Lexie Phelps. Great Grandchildren Brenna and Hudgin Young, Paisley Slaughter, Tinley and Brody Tumbleson, Beckett Eldridge, and Kendyl Lehr. Brothers Ted Mcdaniel (Marilyn), Richard McDaniel (Kaci), Bob McDaniel (Ralfetta) and Danny Joe Mcdaniel. A Brother in law Paul DeAngelo. Honorary son Gary Young, and Jeff McDaniel. Also, a host of friends, nieces, and nephews left to cherrish her memory.

Graveside services will be 11/10/22 10 am at Rowell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mamie’s Poppy Plates 5507 Ranch Dr. #101, Little Rock, AR 72233 or Rowell Cemetery.
