Mary Helen Mccleod-Marks

Mary Marks age 60 of Rison, departed this life and went into eternal rest on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at her home. She was born July 20, 1949 in Rison, a daughter of Boston McCleod and the late Helen McCleod. Mrs. Marks attended Lanwood Public School in Rison. She was a faithful member of Kedron Church of God in Christ until her health failed her. Mrs. Marks confessed her life to Christ at a very young age. She had five loving children. Mrs. Marks enjoyed going to church, praising the Lord, singing, talking, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her fourteen grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Nelson McCleod; one son, Ricky Odell McCleod; one brother, Keith (Red) Smith.

Mrs. Marks leaves to cherish her memories, her father and step mother, Boston and Annie McCleod of Rison; three sons and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Tamelia Marks, Kevin McCleod, and Marcus Marks all of Rison; two daughters and sons-in-law, Felisa and Veodis Wainwright, Janet and Charles Wells, all of Rison; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Timmy and Tiffany Smith, Jerome and Sabrina McCleod, Kenny Smith, all of Rison, James Johnson of Dallas, Texas; twelve sisters and brothers-in-law, OraLee Frazier, Sharon Miller, both of Flint, Michigan, Viola Drane of Chicago, Illinois, Alanna McCleod, Natasha McCleod, Temika McCleod, LaTonya and Tyrone Wells, Beverly and Earnest Frye, Debra and Cirus Owens, all of Rison, Lois Scott, Carol and Celestine Namouna, all of Forrest City, Gladys Johnson of Arlington, Texas; fourteen grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 10, 2009 at Kedron Church of God in Christ with Elder Arthur Ray Sledge officiating. Burial will follow in Kedron Cemetery. Visitation is 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Pallbearers are Oscar Frye, Antonio Fletcher, Ronald Martin, Homer Bell, Charles Jones, Travis Bell, Demorse Mcloud, Rufus White, Anthony Davis, Anthony Wells and Steve Wainwright. Honorary pallbearers are Marcus Marks, Kevin McCleod, Charles Wells, Giovanni Marks, Curtis Marks, Xavier Wainwright, Veodis Wainwright, Deonte Langford, Reynardo Marks and Broderick McLeod.
