Mary Brown

Mary Elizabeth Riggins Brown age 70 of Rison, died, Friday, April 16, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was born June 25, 1939 in Kedron, a daughter of the late William Calvin Bill Riggins and Jessie McLaughlin Riggins. Mrs. Brown was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Number Two Missionary Baptist Church. She was a substitute teacher for Rison Public Schools, enjoyed sewing and spending time with family and friends. Mrs Brown also preceded in death by her husband, whom she married on May 5, 1972 in Rison, Vester Brown who died on August 4, 2007; one brother, Calvin Riggins Jr; three sisters, Bonnie Louise Riggins, Gertie Williams, Jean Rowland.

Mrs. Brown is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Diane Arnold, Ronnie and Cindy Brown, all of Rison; three daughters and sons-in-law, Pam Miller of Kingsland, Tracie and Ken Phillips, Patsy and Donald Cope, all of Rison; one brother, Mack Riggins of Rison; one sister, Bertie Rowland of Rison; fifteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2010 at Bethel Number Two Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Wade Peddy officiating. Burial will follow in Rowell Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Pallbearers are Lamar Riggins, Jerry Works, Ricky Don Riggins, Mack Riggins Jr, Jerry Brown, Billy Mark Riggins, Ronny Clayton and Wilton Johnston.
