Marvin W. Crutchfield, age 70, of Kingsland, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2013. He was born April 6, 1943 in Herbine, Arkansas, the son of the late William Carl Crutchfield and Ethel Ruth Huddleston Crutchfield. Mr. Crutchfield was a 1961 graduate of New Edinburg High School. He retired as an iron worker from the Local 321 and was a member of Mt. Elba Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Crutchfield enjoyed hunting and fishing. Other than his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brothers, Jackie Lynn Crutchfield and William Carl Crutchfield Jr.; and sisters, Joann Thompson and Joyce Carter. Mr. Crutchfield is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda Post Crutchfield; son and daughter-in-law, Darrell Crutchfield and Teresa of Fordyce; daughter and son-in-law, Melinda Gail Lemons and Bobby of Star City; grandchildren, Allyssa Crutchfield and B.J. Lemons; and sister, Robbie White of McGehee. Visitation is 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 30, 2013 at Buie Funeral Home Chapel in Rison. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Buie Funeral Home Chapel in Rison with Brother Gene White and Brother Nick Flowers officiating. Burial will follow in Reaves Cemetery near New Edinburg. Pallbearers are Jimmy Barnett, Jimmy Reaves, Ronnie Bryant, David Carter, Bobby Lemons and Marcus Morgan. Arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870) 325-6216.
