Martin G. Lloyd age 90 of Rison, died Saturday, January 1, 2011 at the Green House Cottages of Southern Hills Nursing Home. He was born September 17, 1920 in Rison, a son of the late Walter Lloyd and Cora Lee Parsons Lloyd. Mr. Lloyd served in the United States Air Force during World War II. He was a mechanic, truck driver and retired from the Cleveland County Sheriffs office, where he was a dispatcher and jailer. He was a member of the American Legion; Culpepper Masonic Lodge #186, and a member of Rison Baptist Church. Mr. Lloyd was also preceded in death by two wives, Gearldean Green Lloyd and Ada Glen White Lloyd; four sons, Walter A, Lloyd, Kenneth Lloyd, Robert E. Lloyd and Danny Wayne Lloyd; two step sons, Elton White and Russell White.
Mr. Lloyd is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Brenda Lloyd; one daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Jimmy Turner; step sons and daughters-in-law, James and Brenda White, all of Rison, Thomas and Mary White of Calmer,; step daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Bill Smith of Lowell; brother, Robert John Lloyd of Fordyce; eleven grandchildren; nine step grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2011 at Greenwood Cemetery with Brother Wade Totty officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
