Marsha Carolyn Pate

Marsha Carolyn Purcell Pate of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away at the age of 68 on Wednesday, March 7, 2018.  She was born to George Purcell and Shirley Dill Purcell on November 1, 1949 in Kokomo, Indiana. Marsha was a generous, kind soul who loved her family deeply and was always a fierce defender and supporter of her loved ones.  She was a selfless person who sacrificed her own desires for her family and found great joy in their happiness.  She is described by her children as a wonderful mother whose relentless strength was unmatched. In addition to spending every possible moment supporting the activities of her children and grandchildren, Marsha loved playing board games, gardening, and reading, often at least a book per day.  She was a member of the North Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church and was forever grateful for the love and support she found in her church family. Marsha was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Don Purcell, and her husband of 48 years, Walter Pate.   She is survived by her son Tony Pate; two daughters Tina Reyna (Chris) and Tracy Russell (Robert); stepmother Ann Purcell; brother David Purcell (Marilyn); sister Penny Purcell Fudge (Danny); five grandchildren, Zachary Reyna, Reed Pate, Reagan Pate, Mason Taylor, and Diania Russell; along with several cherished nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Vilonia Funeral Home Chapel from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
