Marion Franklin Henderson, Sr.

Marion Franklin Henderson, Sr. age 73, of Rison went to be with his Lord on July 25, 2023, after a long battle with end stage chronic kidney disease, which led him to have to take dialysis for the last three years of his life. He was born July 24, 1950 to Marion Raburn Henderson and Charlie Mae Parmer Henderson in Kiosco, Mississippi. Later moving to Pine Bluff, where he was raised and received his education at Watson Chapel.

Marion began his lifelong career when he was 15 years old, to later being blessed with owning and operating Henderson Construction. Having been a part of building many of the homes, businesses and apartments in Pine Bluff and the surrounding areas. Marion was well known and respected for not only his quality of work but for being honest and fair. In 1971, he married his one and only true love, Wanda Faye Loggins Henderson, whom he was married to for 51 years and had three kids together. Marion loved hunting, fishing, dancing and playing the guitar and spending quality time with family and friends. His wife, kids, grandkids and great grandkids were his whole world and the reason he fought kidney disease as long as he did. On June 5, 2022 he lost his wife yet continued pushing on. He will always be remembered, respected and loved for the man he truly was.

Marion was preceded in death by his parents, sister Linda Mae Henderson Shovan, brother James Earl Henderson, niece Linda Renee Shovan Cox, and nephew Huey Paul Shovan.

Left here to continue on his legacy are his daughters Kim Doss (Tony), Monica Turner (Thomas), and son Marion “Franky” Henderson, Jr. and his partner Miranda, eight grandchildren Haley Bush, Chris Holleman (Chrissy), Brooks Wilson (Levi), Brandon Doss (Elizabeth), Madelynn Henderson (Jacob), Bailee Turner, Madison Turner and T.J. Turner, great-grandkids Kinley Bush, Jayden Marshall, Jase Ryan Marshall, Lakelynn Rogers, Ledger Wilson, Harper Wilson, Declan Wilson, Kayton Spakes, Aniston Dyer and yet to make her arrival Collins Holleman, and one brother Charlie Palmertree.

Pallbearers will be Franky Henderson, Chris Holleman, Brandon Doss, William Shovan Sr., William Shovan, Jr., Bubba Henderson, Dustin Henderson, and Tyler Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Doss, Thomas Turner, Brian Holleman, Charlie Palmertree, Jacob Harrison, Levi Wilson and T.J. Turner.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2023 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Center Campground Cemetery.
