Margaret Frances (Thompson) Reed

Margaret Frances Thompson Reed, age 88, of Rison passed away Sunday, December 15, 2019.  She was born on April 19, 1931 in Kingsland, Arkansas, to the late W. H. Hardy and Lillie Golden Thompson.  Mrs. Reed attended Capitol City Business College.  For over forty years, she worked for Varco-Pruden as an Administrative Assistant.  She enjoyed putting puzzles together, crocheting, sewing, gardening and cooking for others.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Manard Reed Sr.; son, Manard Reed Jr.; daughter, Susan Cole; siblings, Gertrude Jacks, Jim Thompson, Glen Thompson and Henry M. Thompson.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter-in-law, Vicky Reed; son-in-law, Garry Cole; brother, William Hardy Thompson; eight grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Moore’s Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Dylan Reed, Jarred Reed, Isaac Reed, Alex Reed, Dustin Horton and Kyle Horton; honorary pallbearers are Clayton Gorman, Cole Litchfield and Ty Kibbons. Funeral arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home of Rison.

The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to the staff of Green House Cottages of Southern Hills in Rison for the wonderful care given to Margaret during her time there.
