Margaret Arlene Mcmurray

Margaret Arlene McMurray, age 73, of Durham, North Carolina died Monday, December 14, 2009 at Duke Hospital in Durham. She was born December 19, 1935 in Sheridan, Arkansas, a daughter of the late William Sterling and Carrie Ophelia Boast Spray. Mrs. McMurray was an active member of Parma Baptist Church in Ohio serving as organist for 17 years and working with other ministries. After moving to North Carolina, she attended Grey Stone Baptist church where she became involved in the choir, served as leader of the womens Sunday school class and worked with other ministries. Mrs. McMurray worked as manager of True Value Hardware in the Woodcroft Shopping Center in Durham for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan Roger McMurray.

She is survived by three sons, Terrence McMurray of Houston, Texas, Dwight McMurray of Elyria, Ohio, Greg McMurray of Tigard, Oregon; one granddaughter, Holly of Hickory, North Carolina.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 19, 2009 at Buie Funeral Chapel in Sheridan. Burial will be in Lost Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials may be made to the Second Mile Ministry at Grey Stone Baptist Church, 2601 Hillsborough Rd., Durham, NC 27705.
