Margaret Haymond

December 24, 1929 — April 4, 2015

Margaret Calaway Haymond, age 85, of Rison went to be with the Lord, Saturday, April 4, 2015. Mrs. Haymond was born December 24, 1929 in Rison, a daughter of the late J. W. Calaway and Bess Randleman Calaway. She received her master's degree in education from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Before retiring, she taught for Grapevine Public Schools and W. B. Simpson Elementary in Camden, Delaware. Mrs. Haymond was a faithful member of Rison United Methodist Church where she was involved with the guild, enjoyed singing in the choir and was also a certified Methodist Lay Speaker. She loved reading and canning jellies and jams but her specialty was desserts. Mrs. Haymond was preceded in death by her daughter, Rita Ann Jorge; brother, Jasper Calaway and sister, Helen Kaplan. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 56 years, Harris Allen Haymond of Rison, whom she married April 5, 1958; three sons, Lloyd William "Bill" Patrick of Rison, Martin Haymond and wife, Juanita of Manchester, Tennessee, Jeff Haymond and wife, Jennifer of Spring Valley, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Callie Haymond, Natalie Haymond, Christopher Haymond, Amanda Haymond, Matthew Haymond, Megan Haymond, Jamie Jorge, Shanti Burns and three great grandchildren. Funeral services are 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Rison United Methodist Church in Rison, with Elder Jeff Haymond and Reverend Ike Mohr officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery at Rison. Pallbearers are Harris Allen Haymond, Bill Patrick, Martin Haymond, Jeff Haymond, Courtney Jackson, Harry Camp and Shane Lowry.
