Marcell M. Franklin

Mary Marcell Franklin age 78 of Kingsland, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born February 4, 1932 in New Edinburg, a daughter of the late Amos and Flossie Mitchell. Mrs. Franklin was a homemaker and a member of Kingsland Missionary Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, A. E. Pete Franklin.

Mrs. Franklin is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Pat Franklin of Maumelle, Martha and Tony Atkins of Kingsland; two granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Shannon and Jeff Cathey of Maumelle, Tina and Ryan Lephiew of Benton; two great grandchildren, Kiley Cathey and Carson Cathey, both of Maumelle; great friend, Carla Intessimone, and wonderful caretaker, Dianna Martin. She will be missed by many friends and family.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Buie Funeral Chapel in Rison with Elder Rick Bolin officiating. Burial will follow in Kingsland Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 2, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Gene Franklin, David Franklin, Dean Steelman, Mike Sandoval, Harlan Moring, and Randy Hollis.
