Maggie Jean Gracie Leopard

Maggie Jean Gracie Leopard, age 85, of Rison passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Mrs. Leopard was born July 28, 1932 in Cleveland County, Arkansas, to the late Lee and Amy Brown Gracie. She enjoyed being a wife and mother who deeply loved taking care of her family. Mrs. Leopard was a retired seamstress. She was also a long-time member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Leopard is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-four years, Almus Leopard; brothers, Victor Gracie, Walter Gracie; sisters, Mable Rawls, Ola Davis, Rosalie Gracie, Ada White Lloyd, Rose Vankirk; step-brother, Robert Lunsford and grandson, Steven Raye McKinney.

She is survived by her son, Roger (Debbie) Leopard of Rison; daughters, Brenda (James) McKinney-Green of Rison, Nina (Ward) Hesselbein of White Hall; Deborah (Rick) Hobbs of Watson Chapel; sister, Betty Rodgers of Randall; ten grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be 2:00p.m., Friday, January 19, 2018 at Buie Funeral Home with Brother David Leopard and Brother Sluggo Norris officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Rison. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00p.m., Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Billy Bowlin, Doyle Bowlin, Dewayne Leopard, Benny Davis, David Waters, Barry Gracie, Chris Rawls and Jack Rodgers; honorary pallbearers, Mack Leopard, James Royce White, Randall Gracie, Thomas White, Bobby Davis, David Davis and Wesley Leopard.
