Madelyn Wilkerson

August 15, 1935 — January 17, 2014

Madelyn L. Wilkerson, age 78, of Sheridan went to be with the Lord Friday, January 17, 2014 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Little Rock. She was born August 15, 1935 in Seiling, Oklahoma to the late Melvin P. Peterman and Audrey Young Peterman. Mrs. Wilkerson was a well-known seamstress, businesswoman, and homemaker. She was a former airplane pilot, loved preparing food for the elderly, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Wilkerson was of the Assembly of God faith. Mrs. Wilkerson is also preceded in death by her sister, Janice Ferguson. Mrs. Wilkerson is survived by her husband, Vernon "Warren" Wilkerson of Sheridan; sons, Reverend Melvin See and his wife, Gail of Dover, Oklahoma and Reverend Dale See and his wife, Nancy of Malvern, Pennsylvania; daughter, Nancy Leavins of North Little Rock; brothers, Reverend Wesley Peterman of Seiling, Oklahoma and Reverend Leslie "Dutch" Peterman of Kingfisher, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and a host of friends and other extended family members. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 20, 2014 at First Assembly of God Church in Sheridan with Reverend Dale See and Reverend Wesley Peterman officiating. Interment will follow at Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan. Pallbearers are Mrs. Wilkerson's grandsons. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan. Memorials may be made to First Assembly of God Church in Sheridan.
