Mack "Bub" Riggins, age 86 of Rison, died, Saturday, February 12, 2011 at his home. He was born November 16, 1924 in Cleveland County, a son of the late William Calvin Bill Riggins and Jessie McLaughlin Riggins. Mr. Riggins served in the United States Army during World War II and was a retired truck driver. He was a member of Sardis Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Mr. Riggins was a Christian man that loved his family and friends. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Calvin Riggins Jr.; four sisters, Bonnie Louise Riggins, Gertie "Will" Williams, Jean Rowland and Mary Brown.
Mr. Riggins is survived by his wife, Louise King Riggins of Rison; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mack Riggins Jr and Alice of Rison, Billy Riggins and Cecilia of Pine Bluff, Ricky Riggins and Linda of Rison; one daughter and son-in-law, Betty Valentine and Hal of Harker Heights, Texas; one sister, Bertie Rowland of Rison; eight grandchildren, Stacie Ludlow, Ricky L. Riggins, Brian Riggins, Amy Reece, Katie Elliott, Leslie Irick, Richard Valentine and Heath Wingard; twenty one great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services are 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at Buie Funeral Home with Brother Ronald Young, Brother Johnnie Brewster and Brother David Leopard officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 14, 2011, at Buie Funeral Home in Rison.
