On March 1, 2014, Loyce Bernice Johnson Rice ran into God's arms. Born September 28, 1937 at Banks, Arkansas to William Otto and Marie Johnson. She graduated from Warren High School in 1957. She was a member of Watson Chapel Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and retired broiler chicken farmer for Tyson. She was preceded in death by her parents and 14 years to the day of her death by her husband of 43 years, Ray Rice. She is survived by 4 children, James Ralph Rice, Ronda Rice Hendricks, Jenny (George) Vontungeln, all of Pine Bluff and Otto (Trish) Rice of Star City. Grandchildren, Kerry Hendricks, Tuesday (Casey) Cody and Matthew Vontungeln. One great granddaughter, Aubrey Grace Cody all of Pine Bluff. Siblings, William Otto Johnson, Jr. of South Carolina, Jeanette Vallun of Pine Bluff and half-sister Mary Tidwell of California. Sister-in-laws, Clydie Walls of Arkadelphia, Yvonne Williams of Glendale, Pauline Jacks of Rison and Mattie Clark of Lake Village and former son-in-law, David Hendricks of Pine Bluff. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 4, 2014 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Services will be Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 2 pm at Buie Funeral Home Chapel in Rison. Bro. Todd Howard will officiate funeral. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Rison. Pall bearers will be George Vontungeln, Casey Cody, David Hendricks, Alan White, Iry Rice and Eddie White. All memorials can be made to her church home, Watson Chapel Baptist Church. Family will be at the home of Ronda Hendricks on Payton Road in Watson Chapel. Funeral arrangements by Buie Funeral Home of Rison.
