Louise Reed Johnston

Louise Reed Johnston age 95 of Woodlawn, died, Thursday September 16, 2010 at her home. She was born June 17, 1915 in Woodlawn, a daughter of the late Luther Reed and Emma Woolley Reed. Mrs. Johnston was a homemaker and a member of Center Missionary Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her step mother, Virginia Adams Reed; husband of sixty four years, H. L. Johnston, whom she married on October 10, 1931; one daughter, Mary Emma Johnston; four brothers, Oliver, Owen, Bernard and Leonard Reed; two sisters, Bessie Hamilton and Pearl Miller.

Mrs. Johnston is survived by two sons and daughters in law, J. L. and Gloria Johnston of Rison, Ronald and Sandra Johnston of Woodlawn; four grandchildren, Steve Johnston of Woodlawn, Jay and Kim Johnston of Bentonville, Laura and David Ledbetter of Fordyce, Reed and Heather Johnston of Woodlawn; six great grandchildren, Tyler Ledbetter, Zoe Ledbetter, Quinton Ledbetter, Jacob Johnston, Rusty Johnston and Jayci Johnston; caregivers, Hospice Angels and Dorothy Johnson.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Center Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Doney Blackerby and Brother William Paul Woolley officiating. Burial will follow in Rowell Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 17, 2010 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Pallbearers are Jay Johnston, Steve Johnston, Rusty Johnston, Tyler Ledbetter, David Ledbetter, Johnny Reed, John Reed and Herdis White. Memorials may be made to Center Missionary Baptist Church, 60 Cole Road, Rison, Arkansas 71665. Arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870) 325-6216.
