Lorene Terry

Lorene Terry age 82 of the Macedonia Community near Rison, died, Sunday, April 11, 2010 at the Green House Cottages of Southern Hills Nursing Home in Rison. She was born December 4, 1927 in Rison, the daughter of the late Bart David and Chester Ione Owens Roberts. Mrs. Terry was a 1947 graduate of Rison High School. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and fishing, and was a member of Friends of the Library. Mrs. Terry was a retired librarian, having worked for the Cleveland County Library for many years and played an instrumental role with the building of the new library, was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She is also preceded in death by her husband, James Gibson Dude Terry, who died on August 8, 2001; one daughter, Janet Gayle Terry; two brothers, Earl Roberts, Coy Roberts; three sisters, Ella Lewis, Gladys Pennington, and Lura Cathey.

Mrs. Terry is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Sue Terry, Freddie and Sandy Terry, all of Pine Bluff, Don and Hilda Terry of Macedonia; one brother, Travis Roberts of Crossett; six grandchildren, Matthew Terry, Amanda Burrough, Bart Terry, Janet May, Scott Terry and Aaron Terry; four great grandchildren.

Funeral services are 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Travis Roberts and Brother Calvin Terry officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Pallbearers are Matthew Terry, Scott Terry, Bart Terry, Aaron Terry, Ronnie Word and Dale Cash. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby McMurtrey and Josh Burrough.
