Lester Adkins, 74, of Bald Knob, passed away April 16, 2019 at Unity Health in Searcy. He was born February 7, 1945 at McClelland, Arkansas to the late Lester Manard and Maybell Rambo Adkins.
Mr. Adkins was a life long tree trimmer, having worked for Asplundh and his own company, No Twig Too Big. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all his family and grandchildren.
He married Shirley Anderson Adkins May 13, 1961 at Augusta; she survives. He is also survived by two sons, Tommy Adkins (Terri) of Batesville and Jeff Adkins (Cindy) of Bald Knob; two daughters, Melanie Hellums of Mt. Pleasant, Arkansas and Elaine Cullum of Holcumb, Missouri; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Bob Adkins of Bald Knob and Dennis Adkins (Jackie) of Judsonia; and one sister, Ruth Ann Barnett of Bald Knob.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Sullivan Funeral Care. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 19 at Shady Grove Cemetery.
