Leroy "Tommy" Lunsford was born on December 7, 1931, in Rison, and departed this life on February 5, 2025, in Pine Bluff. He was a dedicated farmer who found joy in working the land, riding his dozer, and tending to his cows.
Family played a central role in Leroy's life. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, Mary Francis Lunsford, and together they built a loving household. He is survived by his daughters, Joni Lunsford, daughter-in-law Pam Lunsford and one brother Troy Lunsford. Leroy’s legacy continues through his grandchildren: Mandy Lunsford Bradshaw, Amber Adams, Ashley Adams, and Jessie Lunsford. He also delighted in the lives of his great-grandchildren, including Cody Lunsford, Caleb Bradshaw, Dillon Lunsford, Noah Spakes, Hayden Lunsford, Jerrid Smith Presley Bradshaw, and Abby Bradshaw, as well as his great-great-grandchildren Khloe Lunsford, Zander Lunsford, and Lynnon Bradshaw.
Leroy was also a man of faith, attending New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, where he found community and nurtured his spiritual life. His dedication to his church and family reflected the values he held dear throughout his life.
He is predeceased by his father, Jewell Lunsford, and his mother, Mary Melinda Roberts. Leroy also mourned the loss of several siblings, including brothers J.W. Lunsford, Joe Pat Lunsford, Wayne Lunsford, Danny Lunsford, Richard Lunsford, Willie Lunsford, J.D. Lunsford, and Jimmy Lunsford, as well as sisters Reba Taylor, Lorene Cox, Betty Sue McDaniel, and Pam Wilder. Additionally, he grieved the passing of his sons Ricky Lunsford, Randy Lunsford, and Scott Lunsford, along with his grandson, Mitch Lunsford, and granddaughter, Monica Lunsford.
Leroy "Tommy" Lunsford will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his love for farming, and his strong sense of community and faith. His legacy of love and hard work will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
