Leona Estelle (Wise) Buck

Leona Estelle Wise Buck, age 96, of Sheridan, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, August 17, 2022. She was born October 31, 1925 in Iowa Park, Texas to the late Robert Lee Wise and Alzert Kay Pugh Wise. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband on 70 years Jessie Clinton Buck, her son Jerry Clinton Buck, siblings, Nelda Moncrief, Leslie Wise, Delbert Wise, William Wise, Melvin Wise, James “J.D.” Wise and her daughter-in-law Lee Annette Buck. Mrs. Buck was a retired teacher and had a passion for education, which she passed to her children. She graduated from Henderson State University. During her years of teaching, she taught at East End, Leola and Sheridan Schools. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and collecting flowers.

She is survived by her children, Jessie Carrol Buck, Retha Carron Buck Mosley and her husband Gilbert, Reba Jean Buck, Becky Kaylene Buck Morgan and her husband John and her daughter-in-law Krista Buck (Jerry’s wife), 11 grandchildren, Jessica Gillson (David), Carol DePriest (Adam), Jennifer Victorian (Corey), Melanie Clemons (Nathan), Joshua Pollard (Melanie), Justin Hubbs (Amy), Caleb Buck, Sydney Hall, Jessica Rogers, Jacob Morgan (Hannah), and Ethan Morgan, 20 great-grandchildren, Daniel and Grant Gillson, Ella, Wiley, Ally, Zane, and Thomas DePriest, Tyrell Williams, Leilani, Khalia, Mila and Kori Victorian, Nyla, Isaac, and Zalli Clemons, Ryder and Ember Lackey, Aaron Pollard, Leland Hubbs and Rowan Morgan.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Lost Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Kenneth Click officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Lost Creek Cemetery.
