Leighton Delane Whitfield

Leighton Delane Whitfield of North Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on September 28, 2022, at the age of 21.

Leighton was born on June 28, 2001, in Hot Springs, Arkansas and was adopted at seven days old by his parents, Grady and Denise (Perez) Whitfield. He was a member of First Pentecostal Church in North Little Rock where he received the gift of the Holy Ghost at 5 years old and was baptized in the Name of Jesus, attended Calvary Academy and also studied machining at Pulaski Tech. He was employed at Keto Underground, LLC installing fiber optic cable. He was excited about just having been offered a lead position there. He also had the ability to fix about anything. 

He enjoyed music, loved to laugh and have a good time hanging with his friends. He never had a bad thing to say about anyone. If he was upset at anyone, he was over it within minutes. He held no grudges. In his spare time he enjoyed gaming and customizing vehicles with his friends.

Leighton leaves to cherish his memories, his Mother, Denise (Perez) Whitfield of North Little Rock, his grandfather, Jack Whitfield of Scott, Arkansas; his aunt, Minnie Fortson of Haskell, Arkansas; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Grady Eugene Whitfield, Jr.; grandfather, Eli Perez, Sr; grandmothers, Digna Perez and Betty Jean Whitfield, and a great-grandmother, Sylvestra Perez, and uncle, Tommy Whitfield.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 5th, 2022 at First Pentecostal Church, 1405 Calvary Road, North Little Rock, AR 72116,  with Pastor Nathan Holmes and Bishop Holmes officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM before the service also at the church. Entombment will follow at 3:00 pm at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens in Beebe.

Pallbearers for the service will be Joshua Perez, Nathan Perez, Carlos Perez, Michael Perez, Victor Perez, Spencer Perez, Chris Perez, Corey Perez.

Honorary pallbearers are Alex Perez, Aidan Green, Avery Perez, Westin Perez, Carter Perez, Cameron Wagner, Ryder McIlroy, Lorenzo Rodriguez, Julian Rodriguez, Zavan Perez, Hayes Ontiveros, Harrison Perez, Seth Whitfield, Erik Whitfield, Caleb Whitfield, Tommy Whitfield, Logan Whitfield, Dusty Whitfield, Tyler Whitfield, Wyatt Whitfield, Samuel Whitfield, Joel Whitfield, David Houser, Arthur Houser, and Cayson Houser.
