Laura Valentine Brown

Laura Bell Valentine Brown age 66 of the Macedonia Community near Rison, died Monday, June 23, 2008. She was born December 11, 1941 in Rison, a daughter of the late Lowery Reed and Ruth Gertrude Puckett Valentine. Mrs. Brown was a graduate of Rison High School, employed as a seamstress by School Apparel in Star City and was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Brown on April 26, 2008.

Mrs. Brown is survived by two sons, David Lee Brown and Gregory Reed Brown, both of Rison; one daughter, Diane Kay Arnold of Rison; one brother, James Valentine of the Macedonia Community; two sisters, Wanda Dixon and Betty Leopard, both of the Macedonia Community; three grandchildren, Laura Patrick of Rison, Tara Hogue of El Dorado, Brandon Arnold of Rison; one great grandson, Ace Patrick of Rison.

Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Larry Frye officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Pallbearers are Jimmy Dixon, Wesley Leopard, Scott Terry, Aaron Terry, Thomas Brown and Jim Earl Brown. Memorials may be made to Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 7370 Highway 35 South, Rison, Arkansas 71665. Arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870-325-6216).
