Larry Wayne Dyson age 67 of Mt Vernon, Arkansas, passed away July, 27,2024. He was preceded in death by his father, Homer Cruise of El Paso Arkansas and his brother Lonnie Cruise of El Paso Arkansas. Larry is survived by his mother Betty Walker, and stepfather Roy Walker of El Paso, Sister Lisa and Joe Turney of Cabot Arkansas, and brother Greg Cruise of Mt. Vernon Arkansas, along with many nieces, nephews, and very close friends that he thought to be just like family.
Larry was known to many far and wide, He was a free spirit and never turned down an opportunity for an adventure or a good time, weather it was joining the Navy at 17 to becoming a pilot in his 20s and sometimes even jumping out of them, he always enjoyed life. He became a flight instructor later in life and trained many for their own adventures.
Larry retired from the Little Rock Fire Department as a captain after 20 years of public service, he was very proud of his service. He always enjoyed time with horses and went on many adventures with a host of friends in Colorado and New Mexico. He also loved the wagon races.
His laughter and wit were enjoyed by many as well as his enjoyment for life and camaraderie with friends were known to all who knew him. He could cheer you up and chew you out all with the eloquence of a poet. He touched all of our lives in different ways, in good times and bad, healways true to his word. Larry will be missed by us all and there will never be another one like him and in the end he went west for the greatest adventure.
Memorial will be held Sunday, August 25, 2024. From 2-4 pm. At The Perfect Story Venue 120 Pool Lane El Paso, Arkansas.
