Larry Gene Dunham was born April 25, 1939, in Copeland, Kansas to the late Ralph and Myrtle Dunham. He was one of five children, Jack, Don, Kitty and Joe. He married his high school sweetheart, Sandra Hilliard, and they raised four children together, Rick, Rhonda, Peggy, and Brenda, until she lost her battle with Lupus at the age of 48. He found love again and married Jeanette Iler and shared his love with her whole family. Together they helped raise their grandchildren Miles Jr. and Marcee, and adopted Samantha and Billy, living, and loving generously until November 26, 2023, when Larry stepped through Heaven’s Gates at the age of 84. He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Myrtle, brothers, Don, and Joe, his first wife Sandra, his son, Rick, stepdaughter Joyce, and his stepson William Jr.
Larry was a farmer’s son, taught to appreciate the simple things in life. He carried that message with him through life, living each moment to the fullest, from the pranks he instigated, to the way he loved people. He shared his love and sense of humor with anyone he came in contract with and showed God’s love in the kindness and warmth he displayed.
He is survived by his wife Jeanette, his children, Rhonda, Peggy, Brenda, Samantha, and Billy, stepson, Miles Sr., siblings, Jack and Kitty, many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and many more who felt his love and feel his loss.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 1, 2023, at Liberty Holiness Tabernacle Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Mayflower Cemetery.
