Kenneth R. Hensley

Kenneth R. Hensley, age 68, passed from this life on June 8, 2016 at Jefferson Medical Center in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Kenneth was born in Pine Bluff on July 13, 1947 to the late W. Raymond and Helen B. Hensley. After graduating from Pine Bluff High School in 1965 and obtaining his degree, Kenneth taught school, and was a librarian. He later worked for a publishing company before moving back to Pine Bluff. Kenneth loved animals and worked as a veterinarian assistant before retiring.

Kenneth was also a well respected historian, researcher and writer. He wrote numerous articles for the Jefferson County Historical Quarterly, the Pine Bluff Commercial and several other publications. Kenneth was a mason, member of the White Sulphur Masonic Lodge # 182. He had no immediate survivors, leaving behind aunts and cousins, along with friends to cherish his memory and he will be greatly missed.

Graveside services will be Friday, June 17 at 2:00 p.m. at Bellwood Cemetery in Pine Bluff with David King officiating. Arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home of Rison.
