Julia Dean Wood

Julia Dean Wood, age 74, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas was called home to be with our Lord Monday, May 6, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born September 14, 1938 to the late Thomas A. Bunting and Minnie Etta (Madden) Bunting. Julia was a housewife. Prior to her retirement she worked for McGhee Garment Factory, Wal-Mart and Big Red. She loved working crossword puzzles, ceramics, working outdoors and being with her children. Julia was of Baptist faith and loved reading her Bible daily. Her favorite verses were the Lord's Prayer and the 23rd Psalm. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters. Julia is survived by her husband, Tarpley Wood of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; two sons, James Singleton (Nancy) of Hope, Arkansas, Jimmy Singleton of Monticello, Arkansas; two brothers, Arvil Bunting of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, James Melvin Bunting (Jeanette) of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; two sisters, Dorothy Adams (Robert) of Burton, Michigan, Doris Motsinger of Bentonville, Arkansas; three step sons, Randall Wood, Andrew Wood (Tammy) both of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, William Wood (Denise) of Sheridan, Arkansas; fourteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends that will miss her dearly. Julia's family will receive family and friends at Buie Funeral Home of Sheridan from 12:30 P.M. to 2:00 P.M., on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, with the funeral service to commence at 2:00 P.M. with Brother Charles Edward Motsinger officiating. Following the funeral service Julia will be laid to rest at Lost Creek Cemetery, Sheridan, Arkansas.
