Juanice Reed

Betty Juanice Reed, age 86, of Pine Bluff passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014. She was born January 21, 1928 in Woodlawn, a daughter of the late Thomas Ray Case and Flora Huselton Case. Juanice was a faithful Baptist and member of First Baptist Church in Pine Bluff. She was the organist, pianist, and founder of the Young People's Choristers at Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff. She later joined First Baptist Church and held near-perfect attendance and studied in the late Dr. John H. McClanahan's Sunday school class. Juanice was valedictorian of her graduating class at Woodlawn High School and attended St. Louis Institute of Music in St. Louis, Missouri. She was the first female officer of the Cotton Belt Railroad, where she retired. She was a member of the American Business Women's Association, a former President of the Pilot Club and worked at various polling locations on countless election days. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Reed is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Edwin Reed, of fifty seven years, whom she married September 10, 1948 in Sheridan, Arkansas. Left to cherish her memory is a daughter, Donna Kriner and her husband Dale of Rowell; two grandchildren, Indra Kriner of Pine Bluff, Eric Kriner of Jonesboro; two great grandchildren, Erica and Silas Kriner. Memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at First Baptist Church on Hazel street in Pine Bluff with Pastor Ken Thornton officiating.
