Joshua Michael Currier age 14 of Monticello, died Friday, March 20, 2009. He was born November 1, 1994 in Monticello, a son of Michael Rodger Currier and Shelia McClellan Currier. Joshua was an eighth grade student at Drew Central High School in Monticello where he was a member of the All Region Jr. Choir of South East Arkansas. He was in a member of the Twin Roads Hunting Club, enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and especially riding his four wheeler. Joshua was a member of Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Paul McClellan.
Joshua is survived by his father, Michael Rodger Currier of Kingsland, mother, Shelia McClellan Currier of Monticello; brother, Jason McClellan of Monticello; grandparents, Vera McClellan of New Edinburg, Ken Currier of Torrance, California, Ron and Lola Westfall of Parker, Arizona; special aunt, Charlotte McClellan of Garland, Texas, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2009 at Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church in New Edinburg with Reverend Chris Moody and Reverend Billy Wilson officiating. Visitation is 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2009 at the funeral home and Monday from 12:00 until service time at the church. Burial will follow in Reaves Cemetery at New Edinburg. Pallbearers are T. J. Reed, David Cargile, John Greaff, Shawn Doggett, Rusty Trevathan Jr., Jan Kruger Jr., Jonathan Archibald, James Payne, Butch Oliver, Ronnie Oliver, and Charles Wayne Evans. Donations may be made to the charity of the donors choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870)325-6216.
