Joseph W. VanDyne, 54, of West Point, passed away October 16, 2015 at his residence. He was born January 11, 1961 at Searcy to the late William and Lucy Shupp VanDyne.
Mr. VanDyne was of the Baptist faith and attended Shiloh Baptist Church. He was a correctional officer at Grimes Correctional Facility at Newport for the last ten years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Henry VanDyne.
He is survived by two sisters, Emma Wilson of Violet Hill, Arkansas and Ruth VanDyne of West Point; two nephews, Keith Wilson of Violet Hill, Ark., and Billy VanDyne (Delena) of Melbourne; one niece, Alicia Thurman (John) of Searcy; two great nephews, Carter Thurman and Joey Conway; and two great nieces, Hailey Thurman and Haiden VanDyne.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2015 at Sullivan Funeral Care in Kensett. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, at West Point Cemetery where burial will follow.
