Joseph Wendell Beason

Mr. Joseph "Buck" Wendell Beason, age 87, of McDonough, Georgia passed away Sunday, October 14, 2012. Mr. Beason was born July 23, 1925 in Rison, Arkansas a son of the late Joseph Julius and Edith Bowerman Beason. He was also preceded in death by siblings, John Mack Beason, Windburn Beason, Glendyl Garcia, and Nora Jean Lunsford. Mr. Beason worked most of his working career in electronics as a Microwave Consultant for Motorola; he was a dedicated employee who loved his job. Mr. Beason enjoyed spending time with family and friends, doing his genealogy research, gardening, and yard work. He was a lifetime member of Culpepper Masonic lodge number 186, a member of the Elks lodge in Atlanta, Georgia and Houston, Texas and was a Galvin Master with Motorola. Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Johnie Mooty Beason of McDonough, Georgia; children, David and Sherry Beason of Magnolia, Texas and Becky and Mike Hammonds of McDonough, Georgia; five grandchildren, Michael, Shane, Christopher, Susan, and Stacy; six great grandchildren, Skyler, Madison, Jessie, Gilbert, Ayden and Mason; one great-great granddaughter, Rileigh; brother, Bobby and Dollie Tucker of Rison, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews. Masonic Graveside Services for Mr. Beason will be 2:00 p.m Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Greenwood Cemetery in Rison, Arkansas. The family will receive friends at Buie Funeral Home from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the service. Pallbearers are Mike Hammonds, David Beason, Christopher Maddux, Mike Mooty, John Blanchard and Tracy Tucker.
