John Johnny Thomas Kimmer, Sr. age 65 of Sheridan, Arkansas died Saturday, September 24, 2011 at his home with his loving wife at his side. He was born September 1, 1946 in Sheridan, Arkansas, to the late Thomas Henry Kimmer and Willie Mae (Bryant) Kimmer. Johnny, as he was known, was a graduate of Sheridan High School. He was a member of Fitzhugh Baptist Church. Johnny served our country in the United States Marine Corp serving two tours of duty in Vietnam. Johnny was also a member of the Four by Four Deer Camp. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren also he enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing which was his passion.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, George Daniel Kimmer and one grandson, Loren Miles Buffalo.
He is survived by his loving wife, Delia (Williams) Kimmer of Sheridan, AR.; his Children, John Thomas Kimmer, Jr. and his wife Julie of Shreveport, LA., Tessa Rivas and her husband Alex of Jacksonville, FL. and Mary Mack Buffalo and her husband Cecil of Mountain Pine, AR.,;Sisters, Frances Crowder and her husband Mack of Sheridan, Tommye Hipp and her husband Gene of White Hall, AR. and Mary Etta Harper and her husband Charles of Sheridan, AR.; his grandchildren, Drew, Thomas, Lane, Izabel, Dalton, Jonathan, Kori and Anthony. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other extended family members and a host of many friends who he loved dearly.
Graveside service with military honors will be 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Philadelphia Cemetery near Prattsville under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Sheridan.
There will be no visitation.
