Johnny Hollis

John "Johnny" Hollis Jr., age 63 of Rison, died, Thursday, February 2, 2012. He was born September 21, 1948 in Monticello, a son of the late John Murel Hollis Sr. and Maxine Pierson Hollis. Mr. Hollis served in the United States Army during the Viet Nam Era. He was previously employed by the Cotton Belt Rail Road and was a Baptist. He enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Baggett and Rex Hollis. Mr. Hollis is survived by his wife, whom he married on September 4, 1970, Donna Crain Hollis of Rison; son and daughter-in-law, John Brett Hollis and Kathy of Rison two daughters and son-in-law, Angela Brandi Hollis of Rison, Carrie Jane Johnson and Toby of New Edinburg; one brother and sister-in-law, Randy Pierson Hollis and Watheda of Rison; four grandchildren, Justin Allen Wilson, Christopher Levi Wilson, Alex Bernon Conner and Braylon Toby Johnson. Graveside services are 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Greenwood Cemetery with Reverend Leonard Hodges officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Buie Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870)325-6216.
