Johnnie C. Poss

Johnnie C. Poss age 73 of Rison died, Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at his home. He was born October 10, 1936 in Cleveland County, a son of the late Joe Tom and Versie James Poss. Mr. Poss attended Rison High School and served in the United States Army. He was a retired logger, having worked for Whittington Green Logging Company, served with the Cleveland County Sheriffs Office as an Auxiliary Deputy and a Dispatcher, the Cleveland County volunteer Ambulance Service and the Rison Fire Department. Mr. Poss attended Trinity Faith Assembly of God Church where he served as a musician, playing the guitar. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Donald Ray Poss, one sister, Edna Neel.

Mr. Poss is survived by his wife of fifty years, Barbara Green Poss of Rison, whom he married on August 15, 1959; one son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Sheena Poss of Wiggins, Mississippi; one daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Kenneth McDonald of Star City; two brothers, Billy Joe Poss, Guy F. Poss, both of Rison; nine grandchildren, Ben and Amber Poss, Michael Poss, Brock McDonald, Tyler Poss, Nicole McDonald, Julie Poss, Katie Poss, Dylan Hale and Anna Riddle.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 26, 2010 at Buie Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Davis Cemetery near Grapevine. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Buie Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice Angels, 3801 Camden Road, Chapel Village I, Pine Buff, Arkansas 71603.
