Johnie Lea Sublett

Johnie Lea Sublett, 83 of Mount Vernon, went to be with the Lord on June 15, 2024 at her home in Mount Vernon.

Johnie was born December 10, 1940, in Wilburn, Arkansas to Albert and Alma (Shearer) Chandler. She was a loving wife, mother, and granny. She retired from Mt. Vernon School District Cafeteria.

Johnie loved spending time with her grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and also loved gospel singing. She was a faithful member of Barney Missionary Baptist Church where she served as song leader for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Samuel Sublett, her parents, her brothers, Harold, Judon, Jerry, and Jack Chandler.

She is survived by her daughters, Sonya Baily (Jeff) of Vilonia, Marilyn Stewart of Conway, her grandchildren, Cassandra Tackett (Aaron) of Conway, Danielle Bailey of Conway, Lindsay Murray (Joshuah) of Conway, Five great grandchildren, Blane, Braelynn, and Rowan Tackett, Emerson Bailey, and Jack Murray, and one sister, Lucy Decker of Heber Springs. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Barney Missionary Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, Arkansas. Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, Arkansas.
