John Welch

John Welch, age 82, of Sheridan, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, April 17, 2022. He was born January 18, 1940 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to the late Leroy and Vannie Welch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Janice Faye Welch Hollingshead. Mr. Welch retired from Brown and Taylor in Sheridan and West Frazer in Leola where he worked as a sawyer and saw filer. He was a faithful member of Ephesus Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher and Sunday School superintendent. He loved spending time

with his family, reading his Bible and watching the Razorbacks.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Willie Faye Paty Welch, his daughter Mellonie Welch Fuell, his siblings, Pearl McGhee of Sheridan, Betty Walton of Arkadelphia, Roy Nelson Welch of Sheridan, Leverne Newton of Leola, Billy Welch of Pine Bluff, his grandchildren Johnathan Fuell, Tasha Hollingshead Plaxco and her husband Curtis, Andrea Hollingshead Lottt, Catie Plaxco, great-grandchildren, Dracko McDonald, Christian McDonald, Jordan Morehead, Colby Morehead, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan, with visitation at 1:00 p.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Ephesus Cemetery.
