John Edward Trucks of Pine Bluff finished his earthly life October 11, 2008, in Batesville, AR. He was surrounded by his family when he went to be with his Lord and Maker, Jesus Christ.

He is survived by one brother, Robert Trucks (Barbara); his wife Sue Culpepper Trucks, his son, Mark Edward Trucks (Susan); daughters, Joni Michelle Trucks and Marsha Trucks Rawls (Rickey), Bobra Brown (Ellis), Deana Lohnes and Marta Lohnes; grandchildren, Brad White (Emma), Whitney Moore (Chris), Tracie Trucks, Trey Trucks (Kristen) and Leslie Trucks, Chris, Alan, Alissa and Paul Brown; 7 great-grandchildren and a host of cousins and friends.

John played on the 1950 Rison football State Championship team. In 1953 John played minor league baseball for the Hot Springs Bathers in the Cotton State League and went on to play left field for the Harlon Kentucky Smokies and was a leading hitter with a 351 average. In the 1960s John, his brother and father went into the poultry equipment business, Trucks and Sons, Inc., which grew into 6 locations in Arkansas and Louisiana. He served on Rison City Council and was a board member of Pine State Bank. He was a member of Rison Baptist Church and attended Good Faith Carr United Methodist Church. John was passionate about baseball, family and hard work. He enjoyed helping people and always had words of advice to offer.
