John W. Pitts

John W. Pitts, age 84 of White Hall, Arkansas, died Monday, February 28, 2011 at his home. He was born May 29, 1926 in Glendale, Arkansas, a son of the late T.I. Pitts and Lula Mae Sederry. Mr. Pitts was a retired street department manager with the city of Pine Bluff. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching stock car racing. Mr. Pitts was a member of Dollarway Baptist Church and was a mason. He was preceded in death by his wife, Laverne Pitts, his parents, and one sister, Jewel Pitts. He is survived by two sons; John (Shirley) Pitts Jr. of Potosi, Missouri and Phillip (Cindy) Pitts of White Hall; one daughter, Donna (Robert) Aud of Sheridan; grandchildren, Pamela, Brenda, Matthew, Sarah, and Tammie; step-grandchildren, Barney and Christy; five great grandchildren and one brother, Joe Pitts of Pine Bluff.

Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Brown Cemetery in the Faith Community near Pine Bluff. Visitation will be 5:00 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan. The family wanted to give a special thanks to the Hospice Angels of Pine Bluff for their loving care. Memorials may be made out to the American Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Sheridan. (870 9423231).
