John David Light

John David Light, age 66, of Judsonia went to be with his Lord on Saturday, February 4, 2023. He was born June 27, 1956, in Panola County, MS to the late John Monroe and Mary Lee Betts Light. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Larry, Jerry, Paul, and Calvin Light. He enjoyed fishing, working on lawn mowers, and going to dirt track races with his cousin. He will always be remembered for his love for his Lord and his ability to fix anything. He always said it’s not goodbye, Later.

He is survived by his sons, Paul Alexander Light, Christopher Russell Light-Champy and his husband Rick, John David Light, Jr., and Timothy Daniel Light. He is also survived by his siblings Brenda Burt and her husband SM Burt, Joe Light and his wife Melisa, and Tommy Light, his cousins who were like siblings, Randy Betts and a special friend Stephanie Davis, Rocky Betts, Teresa Lamb and Tony Betts. Also dear to him were his nieces and nephews, Victoria Light, Tony Light, Keith Burt, Layton Pressgrove, Emma Pressgrove, Shanta Foreman, Christina Foreman and Kathy Foreman, his former sister-in-law Geniese Rymer and her children, Jesse Cole, Felicia Fitzgerald, Latrishia Kendal and Canzadie Cole.

A Celebration of Mr. Light’s Life will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Sullivan Funeral Care in Kensett.
