John Robert Wheeler Lane, age 51, of Kingsland went to be with the Lord Friday, February 19, 2016. He was born July 7, 1964 in Monticello, a son of the late John H. Lane and Jean Arey Newman. John formerly worked at Central Moloney for many years. He was a 1982 graduate of Star City High School and attended Mt. Elba Missionary Baptist Church. John always enjoyed the outdoors especially while Hunting and Fishing. He loved his family and friends and the special memories shared together.Survivors include his precious wife of thirty one years, Betty Carol Taylor Lane of Kingsland whom he married on July 6, 1984; son, Samuel Lane of Kingsland; daughter, Cecilie Lane ( Steven Diehl) of Temple, Texas; sister, Teneta Lane Keeling ( Randy Davis) Hermitage; half-sister, Andrea Lane Lampirez of Hampton; nephews, Casey and Danny Keeling of Monticello, Micah and Mitchell Taylor of Houston, Texas.Funeral services are 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 22, 2016 in the Buie Funeral Home chapel at Rison with Brothers Joe McClellan and John Greenwood officiating. Interment will follow in Crossroads Cemetery at Kingsland. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Buie Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Mitchell Taylor, Doug Houser, Steven Houser, Jimmy Langford, Zachary Marshall and Kenny Brockman. Honorary pallbearers are Cecil Graham, Brian Graham, Zachary Graham and Steven Oakes. Memorials in his honor can be made to Mt. Elba Missionary Baptist Church or Cross Roads Cemetery Association.. Arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home of Rison.
