John Lee Grantham, of Mayflower, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2024, at the age of 80. Born in Marianna to the late Robert Young Grantham and Carrie Varner Grantham, he was the youngest of 9 children, he had five brothers and three sisters. He was a proud graduate of Marvell High School, John lived a life rich in achievements and passions. His career included notable contributions at Reliable Life Insurance Company and the successful ownership of several auto parts stores. An avid enthusiast of fishing, hunting, flying airplanes, cooking, and tinkering with cars and various projects, John’s zest for life was truly remarkable.
John was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 37 years, Margaret Olivia “Libby” Grantham. He leaves behind three devoted sons: Stephen (Myra), Timothy (Rhonda), and Trey (Susan); 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and beloved family with whom he shared many countless memories. He is also fondly remembered by a wide circle of friends. His enduring spirit and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, August 18, at 2:00 p.m. at Cole Funeral Home & Crematory "Formerly, Sullivan Funeral Care" , 111 W Wilbur D. Mills Ave, Kensett, Arkansas, with the service to follow at 3:00 p.m. A private interment will take place at Mayflower Cemetery, where he will be placed by his beloved Libby.
