John Cleveland Faver

January 19, 1920 — February 5, 2008

John J.C Faver Jr. age 88 of Pine Bluff, died Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. He was born January 19, 1920 in Cleveland County, a son of the late John Cleve and Bertie Black Faver. Mr. Faver served in the Navy during World War II. He was a retired Longshoreman for the Maritime Association and a Baptist. Mr. Faver was also preceded in death by his wife, Ophie Rodgers Faver; five sisters, Lillian Hope, Willie Glover, Allene Roberts, Pearl Kimbrell Coats, Doris Magness.

Mr. Faver is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Paula Faver of Brownsboro, Texas, Perry and Kathy Faver of Benton; five daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Alvin Prewitt of Jasper, Texas, Janice and Cicile Hart, Phyllis and Melvin Scott all of Houston, Texas, Sherry and Rex Bell of Pine Bluff, Sandra and Keith Wright of Rye; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at Friendship Cemetery with Brother Vance Nutt officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Friendship Cemetery Association, 1300 Brushy Creek Road, Rison, Arkansas 71665. Arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870)325-6216.
