Joe Bob Lynn

Joe Bob Lynn, age 68, of Rison died Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at his home. Mr. Lynn was born on October 6, 1948 in Rison, Arkansas, to the late Robert Lee "Bob" and Martha Agnes Doss Lynn. He was a retired English teacher for the Rison School District, where he also coached the girls softball team. Mr. Lynn loved everyone and was considered to be a special person by many others. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria June Lynn; brother, R. A. Lynn and sister, Bessie Lou Eubanks.

Mr. Lynn is survived by sister, Barbara Ann Stover of Rison; mother-in-law, Lorraine Brandon of Pine Bluff; loving companion, Montez McGriff of Rison; nieces and nephews, Ricky Brown, Randy Brown, JoAnn Dildy, Gary Stover, Scott Stover, Sharon Lynn, Debra Lynn, Brian Lynn, Richard Lynn, Stephen Lynn, loved ones, Susan (Billy) McGriff Wright, Montine McGriff Beatty, Thomas (Teresa) McGriff, Cathy (Ronnie) McGriff Blasengame, James (Lisa) McGriff; close friends, Robert and June Lawson and a host of other loved ones.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison with Brother Thomas McGriff and Brother Billy Wright officiating. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Rye. There will be a visitation prior to the service, beginning at 9:00 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Ricky Brown, Larry Ross, Robert Austin, Kyle Blasengame, Daniel VanDuren and Malcomb Blasengame. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison.
