Jim Charles Usery, age 77, of Searcy went to be with the lord on February 2, 2025, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born December 24, 1947, in Searcy to the late Elmo Val Usery and Imogene June Usery.
In addition, to his parents Jim is preceded in death by his brothers, William “Bill” Usery and Frank Ray Usery. He was the husband of Phyllis Usery, in which they shared a loving daughter and 43 happy years of marriage. He has two grandsons who were the light of his life and shared countless beautiful memories with, as well as a granddaughter in law and two great grandchildren that he held dear to his heart.
Jim retired from Usery Brothers Mill and Pallet where he worked alongside his brothers, Bill, Frank, and Mike for 30 plus years. He spent his life in the woods hunting, fishing, and trapping, but nothing compared to him calling the kings of spring. His patriotism was unmatched when it came to the love for his country. He served in the United States Army and fought during the Vietnam was under B company, 2nd battalion, 7th cavalry where he was awarded two purple hearts, and a bronze star medal with “V" device for his heroism.
He was a man of many names but to us he will always be “PaPa”.
