Jewell Hadley Tapp

Kensett

Jewell Hadley Tapp, 74, of Kensett departed this life February 18, 2021.  She was born July 26, 1946 to the late Colonel Owens and Bessie Hardy at Augusta, Arkansas.
Being from the Augusta community, Jewell obtained her education from the Augusta School Systems.  She accepted Christ at an early age and remained an active member of St. John Baptist Church in West Point until her health failed.  There, she served as an usher, Sunday School Superintendent, as well as Treasurer over her lifelong dedication to Christ.  She was a beautiful gentle soul that will be remembered and loved by all that knew her.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a twin brother, Rewell Owens, sisters, Carol Owens,  Bessie Lee Owens and another brother, Charles Owens.

Her memory and legacy will be carried on by her daughters, Leasa Cain (Bryant) of Kensett and Dwana Hadley of Spokane, Washington; stepdaughter Nicole (Hadley) Young(EJ); six sisters, Linnie Mae Richardson of Kensett, Bobbie Ruth Hadley of Kensett, Doris Jean Williams of Jacksonville, Florida, Joyce Ann Owens of Portland, Oregon, Rose (Pree) Owens and  Bessie Marie Hadley of Long Beach, California; one brother, Marshall Cowans of Michigan City, Indiana; five grandchildren, Bryant Cain II, Andrew Steven Cain, and Joshua Le-Matthew Cain all of Kensett as well as Antoine Hadley of Beebe and Cameron Hadley of Searcy;  four great grandchildren, Cody, Jordan, Jayceon and Jaila Hadley; along with a host of other extended family and friends.

Home Going Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 27, 2021 in the Sullivan Memorial Chapel with Rev. James Hart, officiating.  Viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m.     Burial will be private at Crow Cemetery.
