Jerry Mcgriff

Gerald Jerry Lee McGriff, 57, of Pensacola, Florida, died, Monday, September 28, 2009. He was born in Monticello, Arkansas on July 2, 1952, a son of the late C.V and Jeri McGriff. Mr. McGriff was the previous owner of Jerrys Auto Parts Store on Main Street in Rison from 1982 to 1984. He has had the honor of playing the drums in his praise band at his church for years. Mr. McGriff had the best 12 years of his life after he was saved and started serving God on a daily basis. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. Roy Lee Kennedy; one nephew, Michael Shane Cardwell.

Mr. McGriff is survived by his loving wife of almost 31 years, Janie Green McGriff; one daughter, Tiffany LeeAnn McGriff of Pensacola, Florida; one sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and Billy Cardwell of Houston, Texas; two brothers and sister-in-law, Richard McGriff of Arlington, Texas, Danny Ray and Debra McGriff of Selma, Arkansas; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Memorial services will be held October 1, 2009 at My Fathers Vineyard Church, 8260 Pensacola Blvd., Pensacola, Florida with Pastor Wes Alvarez and Brother Ken Johnson officiating. Memorial arrangements by Trahan Family Funeral Home in Pensacola, Florida

Graveside services are 3:30 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2009 at Greenwood Cemetery in Rison. Visitation is 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 3, 2009 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Local arrangements by Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870) 325-6216.
