Jean Hodges (Collins) Shinn

Jean Hodges Shinn, 75, of Kensett, passed from this life Tuesday, September 2, 2014. She was born January 19, 1939 in Bald Knob to the late Earl and Lorene Collins. Mrs. Shinn was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kensett; a loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Hodges; granddaughter, Rachel Hodges; sister, Shirley Odell; and brother, Bobby Collins.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Thomas Hodges and wife Pam of Farmington, Arkansas; two grandsons, Matt Hodges and wife Stephanie of Perryville, Arkansas and Trent Hodges of Fayetteville, Arkansas; three great-grandchildren, Rachel Mattea Hodges, Matthew Thomas Hodges Jr., and Katie Hodges; three sisters, Earline Birdsong and Adaline Muns both of Kensett and Jeanetta Martin of North Little Rock; two brothers, Jerry and Lonnie Collins both of Searcy.
Visiting hours are 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 4 at Sullivan Funeral Care in Kensett. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Kensett. Interment will follow at White County Memorial Gardens.
