Janice Dean Wilson

Janice Dean Ashcraft Wilson age 77 of the Calmer Community, passed peacefully from this earth on February 6, to her heavenly Father. She was born January 18, 1931 in Pine Bluff, to Louis Burton Ashcraft and Bessie Maule Ashcraft. On February 1, 1947 she married Martin L. Wilson. She was a devoted wife and mother and considered a blessed woman of virtue by her daughters, family and friends. She was affectionately known as Aunt Janice by many for her kindness and her serving heart. Ms. Wilson was a life long Methodist, a member of Sardis United Methodist Church. In 2001, she was selected Mother of the Year by White Hall United Methodist Church, though every year her children will rise up and call her blessed. Ms. Wilson was a homemaker. She was also preceded in death by Mr. Wilson and an infant daughter, Marti Suzanne Wilson.

Ms. Wilson is survived by five loving daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and Ken Golden of White Hall, Toni and Rodney Turchi of Little Rock, Melinda and Melvin Hall of Cabot, Tamie and John Green of Alexander, Gina and Charlie Brown of Calmer; fifteen grandchildren, Shane and Matt Golden, Tyler and Nicholas Turchi, Joey Richardson, Melanie Ward, Brooke Hobby and Jason Hall, Jessica, John, Jeridan, Keri and Ronnie Green, Drew and Megan Brown; fourteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008 at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church at Calmer with Reverend Jeff Jones, Reverend Lavon Post officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery at Rye. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2008 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
